Exercise and labor trauma. According to American Journal of Obstetric Gynecology, exercise in general shortens the second stage of labor, and reduces the potential for pain.

Fit moms = happy kids. Mothers who continued exercise through pregnancy produce babies that are more alert, independent and less needy. Researches theorize that the exercise may trigger brain development.
